About Clinton Lodge #47
The Usual Questions
When was Clinton Lodge chartered?
Clinton Lodge received its charter under the Grand Lodge of England in the year 1837. Since then more then a thousand members have passed through its doors
Has Clinton Lodge always been there?
No. In fact, this is our third location since the charter was received. The current building was dedicated in 1991. There were two other locations before that. Our Lodge Historian is putting together more information on its history to be available soon.
When does the Lodge Meet?
The Lodge, sometimes referred to as Blue Lodge, meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm. We also have two York Rite bodies and a Shine club body that meets in the building at various times of the month as well.
Are people allowed to just walk in?
Well yes and no. When the building is open, usually before a meeting or during a lodge function, anyone can walk in and ask questions if they have them. One of the lodge brothers will be happy to assist. However, once the meeting starts, the doors are locked and a brother stationed outside of the lodge doors to make sure nonmembers do not gain entry. Feel free to reach out to us on social media or call the lodge any time if you have questions that can’t be answered from one of the lodge members.
I am really interested in joining the Lodge, where do I start?
In reality, you just did. Wanting to inquire more about Freemasonry is the first step in starting the journey. Contact the lodge directly or on social media. One of our brothers will reach out to speak with you and when ready will give a petition to fill out. Just return it with the lodge initiation fee which covers all of the degrees contained therein, and they will read the petition at the next stated meeting. If the lodge votes to move forward, you will be contacted with the next step of the journey.
